Scottish Towns The Old Railway Track
Length: 2 miles
Grade: short
Parking: Killin
Toilet facilities: Killin

Starting from the car park at the top of the main street, follow the track of the old railway line. The path beside the old railway line is also suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, so everyone can enjoy this walk.
Cross the bridge across the River Lochay and travel along the side of the road, passing by the ruins of Finlarig Castle, until you reach a gate by the shore of Loch Tay. Just beside the gate is the site of a "crannog", an ancient Scottish dwelling built on stilts sunk into the loch.
Follow the path along the shore of the loch and riverbank crossing the bridge again. Take the path to the left along the river, passing the meeting place of the River Lochay and the River Dochart, to join the railway beside the viaduct. Follow the old railway track, which once formed part of the Callander to Oban Railway, back to the car park on the main street.
