Moirlanich Longhouse
By Killin Perthshire OPEN: May 1st - Sept 30th Wednesday-Sunday 14:00 to 17:00 (closed in winter) |
The remains of a longhouse (similar to the one still standing) were discovered during the removal of some snowberry bushes. There is no record of this house in the 1861 Ordinance Survey and it is thought to have been part of the township of Moir Lanich, dating back to the 18th century. The property is now in the care of National Trust for Scotland. |
