At Logierait the two water systems of the Tummel and the Tay converge. This walk crosses a shoulder of Dunfallandy Hill, which is placed in the "V" formed by the two rivers and thus affords fine views of both valleys.
The walk ends by the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, from where you can cross the River Tummel to Pitlochry by a small footbridge.

From Pitlochry, take the Aberfeldy bus and ask to be dropped at Strathtay, just before the road forks to cross the Tay to Grandtully. Here you will find a signpost for the walk to Pitlochry on your right as the bus stops. If you are driving, take the A9 south (from Pitlochry) 3 miles to Ballinluig. Turn onto the A827 to Aberfeldy and follow the signposts for Strathtay.

Once on the walk, follow the path around the edge of the golf course and up the side of the Tullypowrie Burn, which is crossed by a wooden footbridge. Turn right, through a gate in a deer fence and cross the stretch of open moorland before you. The path is rather vague here, but there are posts planted along the route to help you. After about a half a mile you enter a forestry plantation, through which your route is well signposted. A short way into the forest you will find a small group of standing stones in a clearing to your left.

The path now joins a metalled road, leading you down through open farmland into the Tummel Valley. At one point in your path you must cross the A9; be extremely careful here, keeping any children and animals under strict control.
You may of course walk this route in the opposite direction, but be sure that you have checked the times for buses on the return route or have arranged alternative transport.
