Easter Food Festival
Further food and produce events are planned.
There has been positive feed-back on the Crieff and West Strathearn Food Festival held over the Easter week-end.
Part of this year's Perthshire Food Festival, the event was organised by Crieff and West Strathearn Initiative Trust (our area's Local Rural Partnership), with financial contributions from Crieff and West Strathearn Business Association, Perth and Kinross Council and the Crieff Area Committee of Perthshire Tourist Board.
A pilot Food Festival, incorporating a Farmers’ Produce Market, was held in September of last year and further food and produce related events are planned, and your Business Association is involved.
One of the strengths of the area is its wide range of restaurants and hotels and it is hoped to build on this. This also ties up with promotion of locally grown, or at least, Scottish produce.
A further opportunity for marketing of the area as a centre for food is provided with the imminent completion of the area’s paths network (see further article).
So we should be hearing more about what our local hotels and restaurants have to offer.
Food Festival promotional materials were distributed to all participating businesses, in hard copy and, in an innovation this year, also on floppy disk so that further copies could be run-off as required.
