Carnoustie has tried the skills of some of the world's top professional
golfers. There is good reason for golfers to consider Carnoustie one of the
toughest courses to play in Britain, contending as they must with the winds
sweeping in from the North Sea. Yet, by way of compensation for those who visit
the town for reasons other than golf, it has a remarkable record for long hours
of sunshine!
